This final part focuses on the 5th Rheinbund regiment - these were mixed creations from different parts of Germany; Anhalt Duchies of Thuringen and Lippe Principalities of Northern Germany. They actually had no combat experience since they were created during 1809. The 5th Regiment formed part of Rouyers Division, along with the 2nd, 5th and 6th Rhine regiment but were particularly difficult to form due to delays in gathering the various companies together.

The the 5th regiment comprised:

1st battalion, formed as six companies intermixed from the three Anhalt Duchies.

2nd battalion,The 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th companies were Lippe - Detmold men, while the 3rd company were Schaumburg - Lippe soldiers and the 5th company comprised a mixture of both of the above Principalities.

The approximate strength of the regiment in 1809 was around 840 to 1400 men by June.
