Painting Guide #1; The 4th and 5th Rheinbund Regiments

 This is the first in a new series of occasional blog posts dealing with painting Napoleonic 6mm miniatures. My previous posts have covered the basic techniques and my methodology of painting. 

Here my intent is to provide a specific guide to the colours used on each nationality. All paints, unless otherwise stated are from the Vallejo Model Colour range and have the code prefix: 70.XXX, as the reference.

Generic colours are; 

Undercoat - 924,    Black highlight - 994,    Flesh - 955,    White - 820,    Brass - 801,    Gold - 996,

Metallic - 864

First up is the Saxe - Weimar battalion.

    Coat colour - 823,     Facings - 913,    Trousers - 823;    Bag - 847,    Pack - 846,    Blanket Roll - 992

    Musket - 983.

Next is the Saxe - Gotha Regiment.

    Coat Colour - 965,    Facings - 817,    Trousers - 875 and 820,    Bag - 847,    Pack - 846,    

    Blanket Roll - 992,    Musket - 983.

Lippe - Detmold battalion.

    Coat Colour - 918 base, highlight 820,    Facings - 833,    Trousers - 918 base, highlight 820,    

    Bag - None,    Musket - 983,    Pack - 846,    Blanket Roll - None.

Finally, Anhalt battalion.

Coat Colour - 968,    Trousers - 992,    Facings - 944,    Pack - 846,    Blanket Roll - 992, 

Musket - 983.
