Completion of the 4th Rheinbund battalions for 1809
3rd Light battalion in line
This first part focuses on the 4th Rheinbund regiment - the Saxon duchies. The 4th Regiment formed part of Rouyers Division, along with the 2nd, 5th and 6th Rhine regiments.
The 4th regiment comprised:
1st battalion, four companies of Sachsen-Gotha musketeers one Sachsen-Gotha grenadier company and a company of Koburg voltigeurs.
2nd battalion, Sachsen-Gotha company of grenadiers, two companies of Sachsen- Meiningen musketeers, two companies of Sachsen musketeers and one company of Sachsen-Koburg voltigeurs.
3rd Light battalion, five fusilier companies from Sachsen-Weimar and a sixth fusilier company from Sachsen-Hildburghausen.
The approximate strength of the regiment in 1809 was around 2400 men.
