Portuguese Independent Brigade, 1810

The Portuguese 1st Independent Brigade was commanded at Divisional level by Major General Sir Dennis Pack. 

The typical strength of each battalion was around 1000 men, 

It consisted of the following;

1st Line Regt., "Lippe", with two battalions;

16th Line Regt.,"Vieria Teles", with two battalions;

4th Battalion Cacadores, "Beira";

an artillery battery;

and the 4th Dragoons;
